Members of the Review Body on Doctor's and Dentist's Remuneration (DDRB)
The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care is looking to appoint up to four new Members to the Review Body on Doctors’ and Dentists’ Remuneration (DDRB).
The DDRB is responsible for advising Government on annual pay uplifts for doctors and dentists.
Members play a key part in assessing the evidence of the Government, organisations representing the NHS, doctors and dentists, and making annual recommendations to the governments on the remuneration of doctors and dentists employed in the NHS.
To be considered for appointment, you must bring relevant experience and a career track record of achievement within professional environments, together with an understanding of the role of pay and reward in motivation, recruitment and retention amongst a professional workforce. You will be able to analyse and interpret complex information, exercise sound independent judgement, and also be an effective communicator.
In addition, we would welcome skills or experience in one or more of the following areas: understanding of relevant healthcare systems, such as in the devolved governments (particularly Scotland and Northern Ireland) and/or knowledge of comparable healthcare systems such as international ones; knowledge or experience of working in labour market economics; knowledge or experience in industrial relations, or experience of trade unions; knowledge or experience of HR leadership and/or management.
Remuneration will be £450 per day for the preparation and attendance at meetings. This is for a time commitment of approximately 15 meetings per year. The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care determines the length of appointment, which may be for up to a maximum of 3 years.
